KODAK TMAX400 (EXPIRED)
Love me a good masturi. Who doesn’t?
Everyone looks amazing in their matsuri clothes, lots of snacks to choose from, and there are always great chances to make photographs.
This was my first time visiting this particular festival, the Narita Gion Festival.
Here local Naritans (?) welcome close to half a million people over the weekend.
The festival starts on Friday after cutting a rice cake.
Saturday begins with a group dance then mikoshi prep.
I showed up on Sunday, hoping to see huge structures with intricately made puppets atop.
I was more interested in the (mostly) men who looked like they were going through labor, pushing these huge mikoshi’s around town.
I was just getting used to the T3 at this stage, though black and white were not a bad option for this outing. Also impressed with this batch of expired TMAX and the range of greys it produced.
