Travel Notes
When traveling within Asia I usually try and go through HK. The biggest reason for this is to check in and spend time with family. The second being that generally there are a lot more cheep flight options from HK when compared to Japan.
For this stop in HK I was on my way to Sri Lanka. HK is a comfortable home-away-from-home, especially when in comes to film photography. As you probably are aware film photography culture is alive and well in Hong Kong, and there are many genki camera and film shops around the city. Not to mention, at least in regards to labs and selected film stocks, has very affordable prices.
3 days preparing for my trip was ample amount of time to sneak in camera shop visits between family meals and appointments.
This would be the first time I get to photograph the city with my Leica, which is a great match for the city. Probably my favorite camera to shoot HK with, giving you the freedom of manual mentality without lugging around a medium format tank.
This was also the trip I was able to meet Ink'chacha Press, who help with printing copies of my first zine, IS THIS IS.
I'm fairly confident these films were developed by Colorluxe Express in Wan Chai.
